Ferrovial SE
Moving forward together
A global tier-1 infrastructure concessionaire and construction giant behind iconic rail feats including major civil works for High Speed 2 (HS2) in the UK, California High-Speed Rail, London's Elizabeth line (Crossrail), and Spain's extensive AVE high-speed network.
About Ferrovial SE
Founded in 1952 by Rafael del Pino y Moreno as a specialized railway track maintenance and renewal contractor (Ferrovial derived from ferrocarril, the Spanish word for railroad), Ferrovial SE has evolved into one of the world’s preeminent multinational infrastructure operators and civil engineering construction groups. Dual-listed in Amsterdam, Madrid, and on the Nasdaq in New York, Ferrovial operates across its Construction (Ferrovial Construction), Toll Roads (Cintra), Airports, and Energy divisions, employing more than 24,000 professionals globally.
Ferrovial maintains an extensive pedigree in railway civil engineering, having constructed over 2,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines and hundreds of kilometers of urban metro corridors. In high-speed rail, Ferrovial played a primary role in the development of Spain’s world-class AVE network (including sections of the Madrid–Seville, Madrid–Barcelona, and Madrid–Levante lines). In the United States, Ferrovial is delivering Package 2-3 of the California High-Speed Rail project—encompassing 105 kilometers of guideway, viaducts, trenches, and grade separations through the Central Valley.
In the United Kingdom, Ferrovial has delivered critical railway megaprojects. As a cornerstone partner in the EKFB joint venture (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction, BAM Nuttall), the firm is delivering an 80-kilometer civil engineering section for High Speed 2 (HS2) between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. It also completed core central running tunnels and the Farringdon station interchange for London’s Elizabeth line (Crossrail), alongside major urban subway expansions for the Sydney Metro (Australia), Paris Metro Line 18 (Grand Paris Express), and the Toronto Ontario Line subway in Canada.
