Building a sustainable future
A global leader in sustainable mobility and underground transit construction delivering high-speed rail networks, trans-alpine tunnels, iconic bridges, and automated metros worldwide.
About Webuild S.P.A.
Tracing its roots back to 1906 and rebranded as Webuild in 2020 through “Progetto Italia” (which unified Italian construction titans Salini Impregilo, Astaldi, and other national specialists), Webuild S.p.A. is one of the world’s largest civil engineering and infrastructure contractors. Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, the group operates across 50 countries with a direct and indirect workforce exceeding 85,000 people. Webuild is universally ranked by Engineering News-Record (ENR) among the top global contractors for water infrastructure and sustainable mobility.
Webuild covers the complete spectrum of complex railway civil infrastructure: high-speed rail alignments, massive mechanized tunnel boring (TBM) operations, complex river-crossing rail viaducts, automated turnkey metro systems, and multimodal transport terminals. Through its major international operating subsidiaries—including Lane Construction in the United States, Clough in Australia, and CSC Costruzioni in Switzerland—the group executes large-scale Design-Build and EPC contracts.
The group’s rail portfolio includes some of the most complex infrastructure projects ever undertaken: the 64-kilometer Brenner Base Tunnel (which will become the world’s longest railway tunnel upon completion), the Terzo Valico dei Giovi high-speed link connecting Genoa and Milan, the Lyon–Turin high-speed base tunnel, major civil lots for the Grand Paris Express (Line 14 and Line 16), Riyadh Metro Line 3, Doha Red Line South, the Sydney Metro Northwest skytrain viaduct, and the Northeast Boundary Tunnel in the United States.
