Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC)
Commuting Made Easy
India's benchmark mass transit entity, owning and operating over 390 kilometers of rapid transit across the National Capital Region (NCR) while acting as a prime project consultant for domestic and international urban rail schemes.
About Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC)
Incorporated in 1995 under the leadership of Dr. E. Sreedharan, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is a 50:50 joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Credited with pioneering the urban rail revolution across South Asia, DMRC built and operates an advanced mass transit network spanning 12 operational lines, nearly 300 stations, and over 393 route kilometers serving Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Bahadurgarh.
DMRC has delivered its infrastructure phases (Phase I through Phase IV) through complex civil engineering and systems engineering milestones. This includes deep underground tunneling through hard quartzite rock and soft soil using Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) and slurry TBMs, extensive precast segmental box-girder viaduct construction, 25 kV AC overhead catenary systems (OCS), and advanced Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling that supports Driverless Train Operation (DTO / GoA4 unattended train operation) on lines like the Magenta and Pink Lines.
Beyond operating Delhi’s network, DMRC functions as a Tier-1 project management and engineering consultant across India and internationally. DMRC has served as the turnkey implementing agency or general consultant for numerous Indian metro systems (including Kochi, Jaipur, Noida–Greater Noida, Mumbai Metro Line 3, and Patna Metro), and provides advisory and operations consulting for global rail schemes across Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
